Eva Ionesco is a French actress, director, and photographer. She was born on July 18, 1965, in Paris, France. Her mother is Romanian-French photographer Irina Ionesco, who controversially featured her daughter in some of her work as a child model. This led to a legal battle between Eva and her mother, with Eva eventually winning compensation for the damage caused to her childhood and adolescence.
Eva started her acting career in the 1970s, making her film debut in the French film "Maladolescenza" in 1977 at the age of 11. She went on to star in several films, including "The Tenant" (1976), "The Leaves Among the Roses" (1976), and "The Great Truck Robbery" (1979). In the 1990s, she shifted her focus to directing and photography.
As a photographer, Eva Ionesco is known for her provocative and controversial images, often playing with themes of sexuality and childhood. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Kunsthaus Zurich in Switzerland.
Eva Ionesco continues to work in the arts, both as a photographer and filmmaker. She has written and directed several short films, including "My Little Princess" (2011), which was based on her childhood experiences and starred Isabelle Huppert.
